Mental Health Awareness Week 16-22 May

May 15, 2016

Here at the APCMH we know that individuals and communities cannot flourish without good relationships. So we were delighted to see that this year The Mental Health Foundation(MHF) are focussing their campaign around relationships placing the focus on the quality of our relationships as an indicator of good mental health.  And, like the MHF, we know relationships are as vital as better-established lifestyle factors, such as eating well, exercising more and stopping smoking for ensuring ongoing wellbeing.

Our groups

Our drop-ins and creative workshops place the emphasis on concern for each other first and foremost as individuals, not on our mental health status or diagnosis. We work hard to establish safe, secure spaces for our members to socialise and establish good relationships with each other and our staff and volunteers. Our groups are open to all and do not require a GP referral.

We also work with many other faith and non-faith organisations towards a better understanding of mental health, illness and distress and our aim is to remove the barriers to acceptance and inclusion which are so often a part of our society.

Find out more about our drop-ins , workshops and spirituality and wellbeing groups.
